Patterns, Skills, and Sequence Study Group

Details

Join Hannah Mayo and Krista Jadro for 10 weeks as they explore the connection between Music Moves for Piano and Music Learning Theory, with a focus on how the skill learning sequence and tonal and rhythm patterns foster audiation. We’ll also examine how these core elements shape activity time, creative activities, keyboard skills, and performance pieces in Music Moves.

Participants in this course will explore each stage of the skill learning sequence, gaining hands-on experience with delivering pattern instruction, identifying curriculum activities that reinforce key skills, and creating original activities to further develop audiation. By becoming familiar with the skill learning sequence and building tonal and rhythm pattern vocabularies, teachers will gain confidence in navigating the Music Moves for Piano series and applying it effectively with their students.
