Meet the Presenter

Hannah Mayo holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Pedagogy and a Master of Music Degree in Piano Performance from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she was awarded the Phi Beta Kappa Masters Award. She regularly participates in chamber and collaborative music and can be spotted performing at a dueling piano show once in a while. 

She began teaching piano, as a pedagogy intern, at ULL in 2006. In 2012, she became the in-house early childhood music and piano teacher at the REACH Preschool Institute. She continued growing an independent teaching studio and in 2014, established Hannah Mayo Music. She teaches a wide variety of students, from the very young to adults, and continues to teach at ULL as an adjunct professor. Following the principles of Dr. Edwin Gordon’s music learning theory, she aims to promote genuine musical understanding and participation for every student, no matter their age or level. 


Hannah is certified by both the Music Teachers National Association and the Louisiana Music Teachers Association and is active in her state and local associations. She is honored to be among the team members of Music Learning Academy.
